The main origin of Mindi wood is the Netherlands. It was first found and cultivated in the Netherlands. Then, Dutch traders and travelers brought Mindi wood to Indonesia. Today, Mindi wood is found in various parts of the world, including India, Asia and North America. The outer layer of Mindi wood (sapwood) has a yellowish-white color. While, the inner layer of Mindi wood (hardwood) has a reddish color which eventually turns into reddish-brown after some time and exposure to light.
