Mini Story: The story of the Bergere (see bergere) begins somewhere in 1720, in the salons of the Palace of Versailles during the reign of Louis XV, where it was considered the armchair of the nobility and the upper class. Its construction from special wood, combined with the luxurious fabrics of the time, gave it the feeling of a throne. From its early years, it was considered the queen of seats, both for the privacy it offered with its open arms, high back and turned sides, and for its dominance in the space as a decorative element. The Bergere armchair changed its appearance over the years (depending on the era and fashion). It was dressed in floral fabrics, leather, many different patterns with special textures, up to Chesterfield. Over the years, we may have seen variations on the bergère design, with the arms covered, the back raised, and the cushion dimensions changed, but the basic idea of a large, comfortable armchair has never changed. A large, comfortable armchair is often better than an entire sofa.

In a nutshell…: Quilting is a type of fabric or a sewing technique where the seams and stitches form various patterns and folds or bulges. In quilting, the fabric is like a “bubble” that is held together by the seams which “dip” the fabric at the points where they are located. That is, in quilting, many small puffy bulges are created that are separated from each other by the seams. These bulges can be diamonds, squares, stripes, as well as many other patterns. The purpose of this style is to break the monotony by creating various patterns in the fabric. This improves the overall image of the object. It gives a sense of luxury but also detail to the design.

The characteristics of the Chesterfield style are its sturdiness, deep quilting in leather or faux leather with "tricks", a low seat, and rounded corners. It is important to know that by the term Chesterfield we mean a style of furniture and not a specific brand of furniture.

CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:
Ο σκελετός της πολυθρόνας, είναι από εξαιρετικής ποιότητας ξύλο, πράγμα που δίνει στιβαρότητα και μεγάλη αντοχή.

Τα πόδια είναι κατασκευασμένα από εξαιρετικής ποιότητας πολυπροπυλένιο. Το πολυπροπυλένιο είναι ιδιαίτερα ανθεκτικό στο βάρος και στο νερό, ενώ έχει μεγάλη αντοχή σε θερμοκρασίες έως και 125 βαθμούς Κελσίου. Επίσης, η ανθεκτικότητά του δεν περιορίζεται στο βάρος, στο νερό και στην θερμοκρασία αλλά είναι ασυνήθιστα ανθεκτικό σε πολλά χημικά διαλυτικά, οξέα και βάσεις.

The "fillings" of the armchair, both on the back and on the seat, are made of medium-hard foam materials that offer better body support.

The lining is made of high quality PU leather. This is synthetic leather and has a linen fabric texture. Synthetic leather is the evolution of leatherette but with the main characteristic that it is not easily distinguishable to the eye from real leather. Its composition is basically polyurethane and polyamide micro-fibers in contrast to leatherette which contains mainly PVC.

MAINTENANCE:
Thanks to the durable construction materials, the armchair is user-friendly. PU leather in particular does not require special maintenance because it does not wear out easily, does not show "stretch marks", and the color is not affected by sunlight. One pass with a soft damp cloth is enough. If there is a stain that does not come out with a damp cloth, then only a mild detergent with a neutral effect is used.
