Description
We present to you the BENNINGTON bergere, in a bright BLUE color with wooden legs in a natural shade. The back upholstery has been made in a quilted style that gives the bergere a special beauty in combination, of course, with the velvet that is the upholstery fabric.
Mini Story: The story of the Bergere (see bergere) begins somewhere in 1720, in the salons of the Palace of Versailles during the reign of Louis XV, where it was considered the armchair of the nobility and the upper class. Its construction from special wood, combined with the luxurious fabrics of the time, gave it the feeling of a throne. From its early years, it was considered the queen of seats, both for the privacy it offered with its open arms, high back and turned sides, and for its dominance in the space as a decorative element. The Bergere armchair changed its appearance over the years (depending on the era and fashion). It was dressed in floral fabrics, leather, many different patterns with special textures, up to Chesterfield. Over the years, we may have seen variations on the bergère design, with the arms covered, the back raised, and the cushion dimensions changed, but the basic idea of a large, comfortable armchair has never changed. A large, comfortable armchair is often better than an entire sofa.
In a nutshell…: Quilting is a type of fabric or a sewing technique where the seams and stitches form various patterns and folds or bulges. In quilting, the fabric is like a “bubble” that is held together by the seams which “dip” the fabric at the points where they are located. That is, in quilting, many small puffy bulges are created that are separated from each other by the seams. These bulges can be diamonds, squares, stripes, as well as many other patterns. The purpose of this style is to break the monotony by creating various patterns in the fabric. This improves the overall image of the object. It gives a sense of luxury but also detail to the design.
But it's not just the color and the quilting that make this bergere stand out. The legs are high and just above the legs there is a wooden frame that runs the entire bergere, in a natural wood color, creating a beautiful two-tone effect with the bright blue of the upholstery.
DIMENSIONS:
75x100x100 cm.
Seat dimensions: 50×57 cm.
Back dimensions: 47×70 cm.
Leg height: 18 cm.
Seat height: 40 cm.
Armrest height: 58 cm.
CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:
The frame, as well as the decorative wooden frame and legs, are made of solid wood. When we refer to solid wood, we mean wood that is made entirely from the trunk of a tree. Solid wood is the most expensive choice in wood type but stands out for its durability.
The "fillings" of the armchair, both on the back and on the seat, are made of medium-hard foam materials that offer better body support.
The entire upholstery of the bergera is made of high-quality velvet fabric, giving an attractive look and a sophisticated charm to the decoration of your living room. Velvet is the fabric that cannot leave anyone indifferent! Whether it covers small or large surfaces, it cannot help but make its presence felt in the space and attract attention. Velvet is a fabric that was particularly loved by kings and emperors of past centuries, resulting in it becoming synonymous with luxury and glamour. It has flooded the windows of the largest stores and is one of the most favorite choices of the most famous decorators worldwide. It is a soft, relaxed, enjoyable and elegant fabric that is impossible for anyone to resist. The positive thing is that it can easily harmonize with any type of decoration, adding refinement and elegance to the space.
Mini Story: The reason why velvet used to be an object only for the eyes of kings and emperors was the fact that it was made mainly from silk fibers and with a very special treatment, which required a lot of time and a special loom. Fortunately, today things have changed and this wonderful fabric is accessible to everyone.
MAINTENANCE:
To keep velvet clean and fluffy, it is a good idea to vacuum it once a week. Attach a soft brush, set your vacuum to the gentle setting, and sweep the entire surface in the direction of the grain. You will see that the dust will immediately be removed and the pile of the fabric will be as good as new.
Under no circumstances should you rub a velvet fabric. Even if you need to remove a stain, do not rub it. Dampen a soft cloth with water and dab it locally on the stain.
Leather (i.e. the cloths we use to dry the car) is also an ideal choice for cleaning velvet.
ADVANTAGES:
•Sturdy construction
•Aesthetic excellence with velvet quilting
•High legs
•Ready to deliver
•5 year warranty on the frame
•Can also be used in professional environments
