In a nutshell…: Quilting is a type of fabric or a sewing technique where the seams and stitches form various patterns and folds or bulges. In quilting, the fabric is like a “bubble” that is held together by the seams which “dip” the fabric at the points where they are located. That is, in quilting, many small puffy bulges are created that are separated from each other by the seams. These bulges can be diamonds, squares, stripes, as well as many other patterns. The purpose of this style is to break the monotony by creating various patterns in the fabric. This improves the overall image of the object.
